This page is in honour of my dog the Amazing Skippy.

I rescued Skip from a life of abuse, and he had become my best friend. He would accompany me to performances and recording sessions. He had become well known and popular among many of my fans. During a show in Kansas both Skip and Martin (the other guitarist in my trio) missed a show. Many queries were made about Skip while it seemed no one noticed the absence of Martin.

Skip listened to me when I practiced and composed my music. Whenever he did not approve of what I was playing he would leave the room and when I played something he liked he would return.

He was such an amazingly well behaved dog unless a poodle walked by?he had a taste for anything AKC. He was also fiercely loyal and protective. Not just of me but of those I loved.

Skips favourite activities were chasing squirrels, taking long walks, and relaxing with a good book. We often sat back and read together while eating Oreos with peanut butter. His favourite music was Duke Ellington, though he was also a big fan of the Beatles, Kenny Burrell, Joe Pass and Monteverde.

You can learn more of Skip at his myspace.com/theamazingskippy. The CD "Blues for Skip" was made in his memory. He died January 10th 2008 and is buried close to friends and family.
